These reports present the results of the Staff Climate Survey that was conducted by Wonderlic in Winter 2006. The results are presented by question, and include the mean response; average response; standard deviation; and the percentage response rates for "strongly disagree," "disagree," "neutral," "agree," and "strongly agree." The results are also presented by grouping of questions or categories, e.g., campus community, career opportunities.
Employee opinions have strong implications for motivation, morale, and turnover. The survey results are encouraging in many areas, and there are also areas indicating need of management attention.
An action plan has been developed to address these areas, and its goal is to involve a cross-section of staff in developing recommendations that can be implemented to improve our work environment.
A Steering Committee has been established, reporting directly to the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost. The Steering Committee will charge three workgroups - Communication, Recognition and Career Opportunities - to develop recommendations for improving our work environment.
